Arinc Donates $100,000 to Historic Annapolis Foundation

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND, Thursday, February 17, 2005—On February 17, 2005 Annapolis based ARINC presented the Historic Annapolis Foundation with a $100,000 gift for the Legacy Annapolis Campaign. The Legacy Annapolis Campaign is a $6 million capital campaign to support the development of HistoryQuest and to build an endowment to sustain it. Located in what will be a completely renovated 1790s building near the City Dock, the center will provide an orientation to the city's historic, architectural, archaeological, and cultural treasures. Exhibits, multimedia presentations, and the building's own windows will be used to interpret four centuries of Annapolis history and to emphasize the importance of preservation in protecting the area's heritage resources. Meeting and performance spaces are also planned.

John Belcher, Chairman and CEO of ARINC said, "Annapolis is such an old and interesting city, but there is nowhere to go to learn about its past, who lived here, and what their lives were like-the kinds of stories that help bring history alive. HistoryQuest will make this information available to residents, tourists, school children, and the business community."

Historic Annapolis Foundation President Gregory Stiverson said, "This lead gift to our campaign illustrates the ongoing commitment of ARINC to the people and cultural heritage of Annapolis and Maryland. HAF believes this contribution will spur other corporations and businesses located in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County to join with ARINC as community partners in our Legacy Annapolis Campaign."

Founded in 1929, ARINC serves the aviation, airport, defense, government, and transportation industries with over 150 innovative products and services. With international headquarters located in Annapolis, ARINC has a long-established history of supporting local nonprofits through both financial gifts and employee participation.

Since 1952 Historic Annapolis Foundation has preserved the distinctive character of Maryland's capital city through public advocacy and guidelines, purchase and renovation, original research, and educational programs. The Foundation manages historic Annapolis properties including the William Paca House and Garden, Shiplap House, Museum Store, Waterfront Warehouse, and The Barracks.
