HA Tuesdays Happy Hour: Home Brews and Garden Views
Date: Tuesday, July 10, 2018
Location: William Paca House and Garden, 186 Prince George Street
Time: 5 pm - 7 pm
HA Tuesdays once again welcomes guests into the beautiful William Paca Garden after hours for delicious drinks, snacks, and fun. With a different theme each month, we will have something for everyone! Check back here and on our Facebook page for themes, fun facts, and more to get ready for these delightful evenings.
This month's HA Tuesday will see beer take center stage. Beer was omnipresent in Colonial America since water could make you sick. Thankfully, beer was safe! We'll be talking all things beer and its consumption in the Colonial period while you enjoy a little yourself. Liz Murphy, writer for The Capital and her own beer-based blog and podcast, will discuss the history of women and beer. Kenneth Cohen, Curator of American Culture at the National Museum of American History, will be taking us on a virtual pub crawl exploring the different types of taverns frequented by drinkers in the Colonial period. Come spend a summer evening enjoying a frosty beverage, provided by the Chesapeake Brewing Company, in our beautiful garden and learn a little history while you're at it!
Cash bar available. 21+ only.
Cost: $10 per adult for HA Members and Volunteers; $12 per adult for Non-Members. Entry includes one drink ticket; additional drink tickets available for purchase.
