Historic Annapolis to open $1.2 million outdoor theaterDate: September 14, 2015, Capital Gazette Historic Annapolis has tapped Fourth Street Design Studio and Cammpion Hruby Landscape Architects for a $1.2 million project to convert 1 Martin Street into an outdoor theatre venue. Built in the 1970s, the site was once the home of ticket sales for the Paca Garden. It was then used as the site of Archaeology in Annapolis, an archaeology program that was a parntership between Historic Annapolis and the University of Maryland for about 30 years. The space is used for storage, but the theater could open by spring 2017. "What's magical about it is its location," Historic Annapolis President Robert Clark said. "It sits looking at the Paca Garden, the summer house and the Naval Academy chapel."
