DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Museum of Historic Annapolis for a special program and discover the story behind Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse: A Chesapeake Bay Icon\, the first and only book dedicated to the 1875 lighthouse. \nJoin Annapolis sailor and author David Gendell as he unpacks the story of the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse\, the iconic 1875 screwpile-style lighthouse\, located in the Chesapeake Bay at Annapolis. \nGendell’s presentation will include images\, charts\, stories\, and history related to Thomas Point\, earlier iterations of the lighthouse\, the current structure\, and its noteworthy keepers. Afterwards\, the author will be available for a Q&A session and a book signing. \nAdvance registration recommended; space is limited. Admission fee includes entry to the Museum of Historic Annapolis. Books will be available for sale at the event. \nCost: $7 for General Admission (ages 8 and up); Free for Children 7 and under\, HA Members\, and HA Docents \n   \nAbout Our Presenter: Author and sailor David Gendell is an Annapolis native and the co-founder of SpinSheet and PropTalk magazines. He has written three non-fiction books: “Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse: A Chesapeake Bay Icon” (2020)\, “The Last Days of the Schooner America: A Lost Icon at the Annapolis Warship Factory” (2024)\, and “Battles at Annapolis: Two Remarkable Football Games in the Army-Navy Rivalry (2025). “The Last Days of The Schooner America” was awarded the 2025 Brewington Book Prize by the Maryland Center for History and Culture for the best book on maritime history related to the Chesapeake Bay or the nation published in the previous year. \n  \n\nAccessibility Considerations: An accessible entrance is available\, located to the right of the building’s main entrance. All levels of the Museum\, including the restrooms\, are accessible via the elevator.
