SUMMARY:William Paca Garden Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:A tradition for over 50 years\, the William Paca Garden Plant Sale provides the opportunity to take home a piece of history. HA volunteers personally raise over 8\,000 plants – perennials\, annuals\, trees\, vines\, and vegetable starts – that represent the best of the old and the new. \n \nCertified as a Maryland’s Best Native Plants retailer\, HA is proud to be recognized by the Maryland Department of Agriculture as a retailer offering at least 20 percent of its plants that are native to our state. If you are keen to support bees\, butterflies\, hummingbirds\, and other native wildlife in your garden\, you will find plants that delight them here. \nStaff and volunteers are on hand to answer your gardening questions. Proceeds of this beloved annual tradition support the mission and programs of the William Paca House & Garden and Historic Annapolis. \nRegistration not required. The Plant Sale is held rain or shine. Pets are not permitted at the event.  \nCost: Admission to the plant sale is free\, as is access to the Paca Garden during the plant sale! Street parking surrounding our sites is mostly residential\, but offers two-hour paid parking for guests (starts at $4/hour). Street parking requires the use of the Parkmobile app. The Calvert Street Garage (located at 19 St. John’s Street) is free on weekends and is about a 10 minute walk from the Paca Garden. SUMMARY:Asian Americans in the Revolutionary War
DESCRIPTION:Meet living historian Daniel Sieh to explore the lives of Asian people in the American colonies in the 1700’s and discover some of the under told stories of the American Revolution. \nThrough documents\, activities\, and objects\, Daniel shares how global trade connected the lives of sailors\, soldiers\, traders\, and enslaved people from Asia as they navigated American society. \nThis is a drop-in style program. Visitors may join at any time during program hours and explore at their own pace through informal interaction and demonstrations. Advance registration recommended\, but not required. \nCost: Free ($5 suggested donation) \n \n  \n \nAbout Our Presenter: Daniel J. Sieh Is a Living Historian with over 12 years of experience working with historical museums throughout the East Coast. Previously\, Daniel has worked at Colonial Williamsburg and later on at Claudemoore Colonial Farm as a Public Historian. He graduated with a History degree from the College of William and Mary in 2016 and has a Master’s degree from American University. Currently works as a  Capital Markets Manager for the for Freddie Mac. \n  \n\nAccessibility: Accessing this program requires ascending a flight of stairs. \nCancellation and Refund Policy: Historic Annapolis reserves the right to cancel or alter any programs.
