Each program is designed for little ones\, 3-7 years\, with a book reading\, song\, and craft/art project\, plus time to explore the Paca Garden following the story hour. \n“Happy All-idays” by Cindy Jin\nDiscover how various families honor the winter season. “Happy All-idays” beautifully conveys the essence of Christmas\, Chanukah\, Kwanzaa\, and beyond! \nThe time has come \nto send holiday cheer \nto family and friends \nfar and near. \n We all celebrate the season \nin our own special way. \nLet’s look at how families \nprepare for each holiday! \nJoin us in celebrating the holiday season with song\, dance\, and a unique holiday craft! \nAdvance registration required\, space is limited \n \nPlease Note: An adult must accompany their child(ren) for the entirety of the program; garden time is not supervised by staff. Activities are held outdoors on the tented terrace at the William Paca House & Garden when possible. In the event of inclement weather\, the activities will be held inside in our conference room. Masks are optional; hand sanitizer is always available\, and if you are feeling sick\, please stay home. This program does not include snacks due to food allergies; food is not permitted in the garden. \nAccessibility: Visitors with limited mobility can access this program via the driveway of the Paca House. One day\, she finds out that her local public library is open on Saturdays\, and that’s when her amazing adventure starts. \nAs she gets lost in the books\, she discovers herself within their pages and starts to see her own strengths. What does Nancy discover about herself? \nCome along and see! Furniture making had provided an outlet to the pressures of the restaurant business until 1993 when he started the Harris Enterprise School of Fine Woodworking in Manchester\, CT. In seven years of operation the school gained national exposure and recognition. \nIn 2000 he formed a business partnership to open the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking in Manchester\, CT. The school was an instant success and the demand for classes was so great that a second shop was built to allow two classes to run simultaneously. He continually strives to expand his skills and knowledge and has been studying and building period furniture for over 25 years. He is a Contributing Editor for Fine Woodworking Magazine and has written articles for Woodshop News and American Period Furniture. He has also done many videos for www.finewoodworking.com. \nBob’s school offers a variety of classes taught by himself and by many of todayÕs top woodworking instructors. This variety of instructors and styles ensures that there will be something for everyone at CVSW. \nBob’s approach to teaching centers on the belief that people learn “by doing rather than by watching”. Successful furniture making also depends on utilizing a sensible combination of machine woodworking and handwork. Bob’s classes feature hands-on woodworking projects that promote mastery of both handtool and machine woodworking techniques. Bob teaches classes and gives seminars at a number of different schools and woodworking guilds around the country. He is an active member of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers and was the founder and editor of the Society’s quarterly e-magazine Pins & Tales until 2019. Bob resides in a converted horseshoe nail factory in Hartford\, Ct. just three blocks from the Wadsworth Atheneum. His free time is spent researching historic inlay techniques\, walking around Hartford and playing with his 4 grandsons whenever possible. \nHe is especially interested in Federal style furniture and the inlay work that was such a big part of that style
