DESCRIPTION:The Historic Annapolis Book Club invites you to explore the past through the power of storytelling. Each month\, club members gather at the Museum of Historic Annapolis to discuss works of historical fiction and nonfiction — books that bring history to life in meaningful and memorable ways. We share ideas\, debate perspectives\, and enjoy thoughtful discussion while connecting over stories that make history feel vivid and relevant. This is a welcoming space where great books\, great conversation\, and a lot of fun come together. \nBook club meetings are free and open to all! No registration required. \nMeetings take place on the third Thursday of each month from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. SUMMARY:Paca Garden Guided Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided garden tour of the Paca Garden\, a beautifully restored colonial English garden. A knowledgeable docent will share its history from its Revolutionary beginnings during the time of William Paca\, signer of the Declaration of Independence\, to today. \nExplore the two-acre terraced landscape and formal parterres\, as well as the wilderness garden\, kitchen and medicinal gardens\, and orchard. Along the way\, you’ll see features such as the fishpond and the Summerhouse folly and learn about the garden plants\, wildlife\, and ongoing care. \nAdvance registration recommended\, space is limited. Walk-ins will be accommodated only as space permits. \nCost: $12 General Admission; $7 for Children (3-17); Free for HA Members and Children under 3 \n \n\nAccessibility: This event takes place in the William Paca Garden. Entry to the Paca Garden includes wooden steps or our brick driveway ramp. The upper portion of the Paca Garden can be accessed via a brick ramp with handrails. The pathways are loose pea gravel. The lower garden levels are accessed by wooden or stone steps. An indoor\, single-use accessible restroom can be accessed via a ramp. KultureCity® Sensory Bags are available for visitors with sensory sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation. \nCancellation and Refund Policy: Historic Annapolis reserves the right to cancel or alter any programs. SUMMARY:When the Call Came: Civilians and the Maryland Flying Camp
DESCRIPTION:Marylanders organized a rapid-response militia to defend liberty during the early days of the American Revolution. Known as the Maryland Flying Camp\, this force was more than a military unit; it was a civilian experience that transformed daily life in 1776. \nStop by Pinkney Street to meet living historians and experience how Marylanders lived\, worked\, and served during a pivotal moment in the fight for independence. The war was fought not only on battlefields\, but in homes\, shops\, taverns\, and fields! \nVisitors of all ages can take part in period games and a hands-on activity from the Revolutionary era. \nThis is a drop-in style program. Visitors may join at any time during program hours and explore at their own pace through informal interaction and demonstrations. Advance registration recommended\, but not required. \nCost: Free ($5 suggested donation) \n \n  \n\nAccessibility: Accessing this program requires ascending a flight of stairs.
