Drop in and join us for a day of fun and discovery as we honor America’s presidents through hands-on activities and family-friendly exploration. \nAll activities are included with admission. \n\nCreate a patriotic craft inspired by the colors and symbols of our nation.\nGo on a Museum Scavenger Hunt through the museum to uncover fascinating facts about America’s past.\nBrowse our Anne Arundel County Library Book Nook and explore a curated selection of children’s books about George Washington\, Abraham Lincoln\, and other inspiring leaders.\nTake a guided tour of the Museum\, offered at 11:30 am and 2 pm\n\nCost: $7 General Admission (8+); FREE for HA Members\, Children 7 and under\, and SNAP/WIC recipients through Museums for All \nDrop-in anytime during program hours. See schedule of events for specific activities.\nAdvanced registration recommended\, but not required. All activities are included with Museum admission. \n \n  \n\nAccessibility Considerations: An accessible entrance is available\, located to the right of the building’s main entrance. SUMMARY:Lecture - Holding the Line: The British Army in North America\, Winter 1775–1776
DESCRIPTION:As 1775 ended\, the British Army in North America faced setbacks at Lexington\, Concord\, Bunker Hill\, and Canada.  Confined to Boston\, the Crown worked on plans to try to reestablish Royal authority across the American colonies.   \nIn this in-person lecture at the Museum of Historic Annapolis\, James McGaughey examines proposed strategies\, leadership challenges\, and clashes with the newly formed Continental Army that laid the groundwork for the dramatic campaigns and events of 1776.  \nAdvance registration required; admission fee includes entry to the Museum. \nCost: $7 General Admission (8+); Free for HA Members \n \nAbout Our Presenter: James McGaughey is an avid historian of American Colonial history.  Mr. McGaughey is an historical re-enactor and has created living history and reenactment programs for over forty years.  Some of the sites include Colonial Williamsburg\, Mount Vernon\, and Fort Pitt Museum.  Mr. McGaughey appeared in numerous documentaries and was an Associate Producer for Young George Washington: The Unknown Years\, airing on Discovery/The Learning Channel.  He recently assisted with Ken Burns upcoming series on the American Revolution and will be appearing in a special program on historical reenacting\, produced by WETA Television.  He is currently working on 250th anniversary events around the country. \n  \n  \n  \n\nAccessibility: An accessible entrance is available\, located to the right of the building’s main entrance.
