Join Dr. Oscar Fitzgerald, author of American Furniture: 1650 to the Present, as he traces the evolution of American furniture through numerous styles from rococo and neoclassical in the 18th century, through Victorian in the 19th century, and modern in the 20th and 21st centuries. Chairs reflect these changes more clearly than any other furniture form. This lecture will follow the chair as it takes myriad forms over four centuries of American furniture design.
