Follow in the footsteps of the Marquis de Lafayette, America’s favorite fighting Frenchman.
Led by Glenn Campbell, who just recently retired as HA’s Senior Historian, this walking tour traces the itinerary of General Lafayette’s 1824 visit to Annapolis, with a few asides to sites he knew from his earlier trips to Maryland’s capital city in 1777, 1781, and 1784.
Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather, as the tour is held rain or shine. The tour route is approximately 1.25 miles long and includes elevation changes and uneven walking surfaces. The tour will begin at the Maryland Inn on Main Street and end at the Maryland State House on State Circle.
Advance registration required; space is limited.
