From its early days as a colonial port to its reputation today as a premier sailing destination, oyster hub, and home of the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis has always had a deep connection to the water. In this hands-on STEAM program, we explore that relationship, both historical and current, while uncovering the science that keeps boats afloat and sails full of wind.
In this session, students will create boats and test out buoyancy, stability, sail power, and steering. This program will have you thinking like both a historian and an engineer!
This session is for Middle/High School students from 12:00-1:30pm. A separate session will be offered for elementary students from 9:30-11:00am.
Cost: $10 per student. One adult chaperone per family is free. $10 per each additional adult.
