Historic Annapolis is proud to offer accessible properties and programs where everyone is welcome.

However, because all of our buildings are historic, some of our sites do have limitations.

Our museums do not have on-site parking. Limited street and metered parking are available nearby; however, these are not designated accessible spaces. Designated accessible parking spaces are available in the public parking garages, with the routes from all garages to our sites along city sidewalks. More information about parking options can be found here

Visitors who would like additional information about accessibility related to our sites, parking, directions, drop-off locations, or other accessibility accommodations are encouraged to contact us in advance so we can support your visit.

Site Accessibility

Museum of Historic Annapolis

The Museum of Historic Annapolis is fully accessible and family-friendly, with an elevator that reaches all three floors. Accessible bathrooms are available on the second floor.

William Paca House and Garden

The historic William Paca House does not have an elevator or ramps, and visitors must navigate several flights of stairs to enter the reception area and to take the William Paca House guided tour. A virtual tour video of the house and garden is available to view on the Paca Garden terrace or a tablet upon request.

The brick terrace level of the Paca Garden is accessible via a driveway ramp, which also provides access to the ground floor level of the Paca House, which contains the Paca House Conference Room and an accessible restroom.

Within the Paca Garden, several ramps are now available to access the lower terraces of the garden, but please note that pathways are currently loose pea gravel.

Waterfront Warehouse

Accessing this building requires ascending two small steps.

Hogshead Trades Museum

Accessing this building requires ascending a small set of steep stairs. Interior stairs are required to also access the second floor. The outdoor backyard space, sometimes used for programming, is accessible via a level alley pathway.

Brice House

The Brice House is currently closed for restoration. When re-opened for public tours and events in several years, several parts of the main block, hyphens and exterior areas will be accessible via ramps and a lift.

Kulture City

KultureCity Sensory Inclusive BadgeHistoric Annapolis has partnered with KultureCity® to enhance our ability to assist and accommodate guests with sensory needs.

KultureCity helps venues become more accessible and inclusive by providing training, signage, sensory bags and other resources. Sensory sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation are often experienced by individuals with autism, dementia, PTSD, and other similar conditions.

Our goal is to provide an inclusive experience for all guests during all events. We strive to raise awareness of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with sensory processing needs by supplying our staff with annual training, and by offering the resources and accommodations below to our guests.

This partnership was made possible in part by the City of Annapolis through the Community Grant program.

KultureCity Sensory bags can be checked out at the reception desk of the Museum of Historic Annapolis and at the William Paca House & Garden. Sensory bags can be used for all abilities and for all ages and are checked out on a first-come, first-served basis.  KultureCity® Sensory Bags contain noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, strobe-canceling glass, and a KCVIP lanyard. Weighted lap pads are also available upon request. After you are finished using the bag, please return it to the reception desk.
