Bedlam in the Garden: Songs of the Sea

Gather your friends and enjoy an afternoon of colonial music in the beautiful Paca Garden with the accomplished musicians and singers of Bedlam.

Join us for a rousing performance of music that highlights the sea, featuring pirate songs such as “The Coasts of High Barbary” and drinking songs such as “The Antedeluvians Were All Very Sober” (composed by Benjamin Franklin!). Historian John Tarafas will provide historical commentary throughout the afternoon.  

Come prepared for sing-a-longs and spirited fun with friends, new and old!

Advance registration recommended. All ages welcome; cash bar available for 21+.

About Our Performers: Locally-based ensemble Bedlam specializes in music of the 17th to 19th centuries. Through voices, hammered dulcimer, guitar, percussion, and woodwinds, Bedlam provides a current interpretation of vocal and instrumental music of Annapolis in the colonial era.

 

*Individual charcuterie plate is a individually-packaged 6″ plate filled with 2 cheeses, Italian dry salami, nuts, olives and pickles, fresh fruit. Pre-orders only, plates will not be available for sale at event. No outside food or drink is permitted.
