Historic Annapolis is proud to offer accessible properties and programs where everyone is welcome.
However, because all of our buildings are historic, some of our sites do have limitations.
Parking is not available at our sites, but nearby options include city garages and street parking, with several nearby the William Paca House & Garden, the Museum of Historic Annapolis, Hogshead Trades Museum and the Waterfront Warehouse.
The Museum of Historic Annapolis
The Museum of Historic Annapolis is fully accessible, and family-friendly, with an elevator that reaches all floors, and accessible bathrooms on the second floor.
The museum is a Blue Star member museum, is Kulture City® certified** and is a member of Museums for All® (see below).
William Paca House & Garden
The William Paca House & Garden does not have an elevator or ramps, and visitors must navigate several flights of stairs to take the William Paca House guided tour. A virtual tour video of the house and garden is available to view on the Paca Garden terrace or a tablet upon request.
The William Paca House & Garden is a Blue Star member museum, is Kulture City® certified** and is a member of Museums for All® (see below).
The top terrace level of the Paca Garden and the Paca House Conference Room are fully accessible, and an accessible bathroom is available.
A ramp is now available to access the second terrace level of the garden. The pathways of the garden are currently loose pea gravel.
Please note: HA is working to increase universal access by adding ramps and stable pathways in the William Paca Garden and anticipates that project to be complete around 2026.
The Waterfront Warehouse
Two small steps to enter, then all one level at this tiny treasure. See a diorama portraying colonial downtown and view photographs and drawings of our historic past. Great for helping children and visitors understand how Annapolis began, and the changes that have taken place in the last 300 years.
The Hogshead Tradesman Museum
A small set of steep stairs gets you to the first floor, and interior stairs allow access to the second floor. Weekly living history events and colonial tradespeople interpreters – the “middling sort”- demonstrate their crafts for visitors and during special events.
Brice House
The Brice House is currently closed for restoration. When re-opened for public tours and events in several years, several parts of the main block, hyphens and exterior areas will be accessible.

Kulture City
Historic Annapolis has partnered with KultureCity® to enhance our ability to assist and accommodate guests with sensory needs.
KultureCity helps venues become more accessible and inclusive by providing training, signage, sensory bags and other resources. Sensory sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation are often experienced by individuals with autism, dementia, PTSD, and other similar conditions.
Our goal is to provide an inclusive experience for all guests during all events. We strive to raise awareness of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with sensory processing needs by supplying our staff with annual training, and by offering the resources and accommodations below to our guests.
This partnership was made possible in part by the City of Annapolis through the Community Grant program.
KultureCity Sensory bags can be checked out at the reception desk of the Museum of Historic Annapolis and at the William Paca House & Garden. Sensory bags can be used for all abilities and for all ages and are checked out on a first-come, first-served basis. KultureCity® Sensory Bags contain noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, strobe-canceling glass, and a KCVIP lanyard. Weighted lap pads are also available upon request.
