Historic Annapolis President and CEO Wins MHT Leadership Award

Annapolis, MD – Historic Annapolis is proud to announce that Robert C. Clark, President and CEO of Historic Annapolis, was awarded a 2020 Maryland Preservation Award in the Category of Outstanding Individual Leadership on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Miller Senate Building in downtown Annapolis.

The Maryland Preservation Award Program, now in its 45th year, recognizes outstanding efforts in historic preservation, including education, restoration, and revitalization projects, as well as organizational and individual leadership. Mr. Clark was recognized for his effort in elevating the profile and visibility of historic preservation and cultural heritage programs in Annapolis. He has served as the President and CEO of Historic Annapolis since 2012. Under Mr. Clark’s leadership, Historic Annapolis has gained momentum as an organization that supports the community’s rich history, preservation efforts, educational programming at schools, and public programs.

“Robert has put a tremendous amount of work into not just Historic Annapolis, but the City itself. It boils down to his magical ingredients of passion for history and Annapolis, a keen ability to work with multiple players to present a stronger, more vocal front to achieve a common goal, and drive to inspire the community to preserve what we have here in Annapolis,” said Jane Campbell-Chambliss, HA Board Member. “Through his efforts and his passionate drive, he has positioned Historic Annapolis as the premier organization that is leading the charge to keep Annapolis alive, to keep our history relevant and to help make its citizens and businesses enthusiastic supporters of what has made Annapolis the treasure that it is and will continue to be.”
