The plants – perennials, annuals, trees/woodies, vines, and vegetables – represent the best of old and new varieties, including many native plants. Historic Annapolis is proud to be Certified as a Maryland’s Best Native Plants Retailer by the Maryland Department of Agriculture. Beautify your garden and help pollinators including bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other wildlife!

Visitors shopping and exploring during the annual William Paca Garden Plant Sale in Annapolis, a spring community event supporting Historic Annapolis preservation efforts.

Perennial fans can look for pretty Lycoris Naked Ladies, rare Byzantine Gladiolus, native Eryngium Yuccifolium, and easy-to-grow Sedum Dazzleberry.

Those looking for annuals have a plethora of options to choose from to fill your garden bed.

Our gomphrenas will grow to 3 feet tall, as will the foxglove that will bloom this year. You can also plant clusters of our cleome, cosmos, giant zinnias, nicotiana, coreopsis, chocolate lace, friendship sage salvia, and tithonia to sway in the summer breeze against a background of hollyhocks and canna.

Kitchen gardeners should look for our Jimmy Nardello Italian peppers, hearty artichokes, local favorite Anne Arundel melon (similar flavor to honeydew), cat grass, and fennel bulb hybrids.

If vines are more your thing, we have two new varieties this year! Don’t miss our

Dwarf Morning Glory ‘Blue Ensign’ and Kanoko Red Speckled Morning Glory. We also have pollinator-friendly corkscrew vines (aka Snail Vines), known for their beautiful spiral-shaped flowers, which are still small currently but will grow to be 6-feet tall – perfect for creating rapid privacy screens and offering low-maintenance, drought-resistant beauty once established.

And on the woody/tree front, we have a couple of beautiful new varieties of hydrangea available this year: the fun-named ‘Little Hottie’ and ‘Strawberry Sundae’!

Also new this year are our limited, exclusive Curated Garden Collections. Pick from the Sun Plant Collection, Shade Plant Collection or Native Plant Collection. Our expert gardeners have selected the ideal plants for each group carefully, so all you have to do is plant them and enjoy!

Whatever you’re looking for, and whatever your gardening skill level, there’s something for everyone at this year’s Paca Garden Plant Sale. Don’t know where to start? Our experts can help you craft the perfect garden.
