Historic Annapolis offers interactive educational experiences designed especially for all scouting groups. Whether your scouts are exploring government, leadership, local history, or community connections, our programs bring Maryland history to life through engaging tours and activities. 

Flexible scheduling is available for weekday or weekend field trips, troop outings, and special group visits throughout the year. We are happy to work with troop leaders to customize experiences based on your scouts’ ages, interests, and badge goals.

SITES

Customizable to visit 2 or 3 Historic Annapolis Sites: William Paca House & Garden, Museum of Historic Annapolis, Maryland State House, Hogshead Trades Museum, or Waterfront Warehouse as part of their themed scouting experience.

DATES AND TIMES

Your Historic Annapolis visit can be scheduled Monday through Saturday between 9 am and 4 pm.

GROUP SIZE

Historic Annapolis can accommodate groups between 10 and 120 participants (total students and adults), base on the chosen package.

Trailhead Adventure with Historic Annapolis | Boy ScoutHistoric Annapolis offers engaging, hands-on programs designed to help Scouts complete badge requirements while exploring one of America’s most historic cities. From Cub Scouts and Scouts on the trail to Eagle, our experiences combine diverse histories, civics, and leadership development in meaningful ways.  

Trailhead Adventure with Historic Annapolis: A shorter introductory experience, perfect for younger troops or groups looking for a focused experience that combines history, exploration, and interactive learning.  

  • Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, includes time for home-brought snacks on the terrace 
  • Choice of 2 sites including complimentary activities and crafts 
  • $14 per scout, $10 per adult (up to 6 adults free) 

Pathfinder Experience with Historic Annapolis: A more immersive experience (approximately 3.5–4 hours) Ideal for troops seeking a deeper dive into Maryland history, civics, architecture, and community leadership.  

  • Approximately 3.5 to 4 hours, includes time for home-brought snacks on the terrace 
  • Choice of 3 sites including complimentary activities and crafts 
  • $18 per scout, $10 per adult (up to 6 adults free) 
  • Explore over 400 years of Annapolis history through engaging stories and historic places.  
  • Discover how local events and people shaped the nation, from colonial America through the founding of the United States.  
  • Learn about the Declaration of Independence, Maryland’s signers, and the foundations of American government.  
  • Examine daily life in colonial Annapolis, including the experiences of both working people and community leaders.  
  • Compare different perspectives on the American Revolution and discuss how historical events affected diverse groups of people.  
  • Participate in interactive, inquiry-based experiences that encourage observation, discussion, and critical thinking while exploring history.

Explore Maryland history through hands-on experiences, guided tours, and interactive learning opportunities that support badge work, leadership development, and teamwork. From Daisies discovering their communities to older scouts building leadership and civic knowledge, Historic Annapolis provides hands-on educational adventures designed to inspire curiosity, teamwork, and confidence.  

Half Day experience: A shorter introductory experience perfect for younger troops or groups looking for a focused experience that combines history, exploration, and interactive learning.

Full Day experience: A more immersive experience ideal for troops seeking a deeper dive into Maryland history, civics, architecture, and community leadership.

  • Explore the three branches of government and learn how laws are created, interpreted, and carried out.  
  • Step inside Maryland’s historic State House to connect civic lessons with real places where government happens.  
  • Develop active citizenship skills by exploring how individuals can participate in government and create positive change.  
  • Participate in hands-on activities that encourage problem-solving, decision-making, and civic engagement, including creating and debating new laws.
