Drop by Pinkney Street to meet the First Maryland Regiment and learn about their fateful campaign to New York in the early days of the Revolutionary War.
1776: The die is cast…. the Maryland Brigade has received orders to march for New York, where the British await and are prepared for battle. But so are the resolute soldiers of Maryland. Under the command of Colonel Smallwood, they set out toward a defining struggle that carries them toward the promise of an independent nation, governed by its own people and answerable to none!
This is a drop-in style program. Visitors may join at any time during program hours and explore at their own pace through informal interaction and demonstrations. Advance registration recommended but not required.
Accessibility: Part of this program takes place at Hogshead Trades Museum and requires ascending and descending a flight of stairs. There are no restrooms on site.
