This delightful ballet, La Sylphide, includes lively Highland dancing, playful storytelling, and graceful, fairy-like sylphs that spark the imagination. Enjoy an enchanting introduction to one of the world’s oldest and most beloved ballets! Costumed dancers will lead an engaging read-aloud and invite children to join in the fun with interactive movement, making it a magical experience for the whole family.

Cost: General Admission: $25 for adults, $20 for kids age 3-17. HA Members and Military: $20 for adults, $15 for kids age 3-17. Kids 2 and under are free.

About our Presenters: As the state’s premier professional ballet company, Ballet Theatre of Maryland presents over 20 full-length performances each season in classical and contemporary ballet styles. Through traditional classics and innovative new works, they endeavor to entertain, inspire, and enlighten audiences through dance.
Because the beauty of live professional dance would not be possible without quality instruction, their Conservatory of Dance provides training and education for aspiring dancers of all ages. They believe in the power of dance to inspire and enrich lives, which is why they also partner with numerous local organizations to make dance accessible to all.

Accessibility Considerations: This event takes place in the William Paca Garden on our tented, brick terrace. Entry to the Paca Garden includes wooden steps or our brick driveway ramp. The upper portion of the Paca Garden can be accessed via a brick ramp with handrails. The pathways are loose pea gravel. The lower garden levels are accessed by wooden or stone steps. An indoor, single-use accessible restroom can be accessed via a ramp.
